About business woman Carol Capriles

Carol F. Capriles was born and raised in Curaçao. After finishing high school in Curaçao she joined her father in 1968 in their import and pharmaceutical business Manrique Capriles & Sons. She succeeded successfully to grow the business, first with her father and later when she led the company as the CEO.
Her involvement in the business world in Curaçao does not go unnoticed. She was an active member of the Association of Importers of Food products, the Association of Importers of Pharmaceutical Products, the Curaçao Trade and Industry Association, the Curaçao Monuments Foundation and still is active as board member of the Curaçao Development Corporation. Carol is also known for her contributions to various social and sport projects, specifically those including young people.

As a successful and respected multilingual business woman she has only one regret: that she has not done a specific study despite all the opportunities. She therefore urges every young woman to make use of all the available opportunities to continue to study after finishing secondary school.
‘The more schooling and knowledge is always better when you get any position’, Carol says. ‘School and knowledge is something that no one can take away from you, no matter what happens in your life’.

Her biggest challenge ever is and will continue to be her son Brandon who is also working with her. Carol is since 2008 in the management of the Howard Johnson Hotel in Curaçao while she tries to combine her busy life with her love for travelling, listening to music, reading and watching interesting movies.
