Dear Visitor
The ‘About Women & ...... Conferences’ were triggered by one of the greatest experiences that I had: the female leadership collaboration circle ‘Araña’ (a web of female leaders).
The experience of having a supportive, safe and stimulating women circle resulted in the annual ‘About Women & …… Conferences’. A different set-up and a first step to move on, to in the end have in Curaçao, this space for professional women (and men) to come together and have moments of great connection, while getting information and feeling/being empowered to move on with their own issues, challenges and realities.

We chose to start with the topic 'Work' since most professional women studied to be able to get a good job. Many can tell various reasons and circumstances that made that they could not get or handle the opportunities and satisfaction when they got the ‘good’ job. Our next topic was ‘Money’. When you have a good job, you do hope to have the money that is good too. Many women can tell that despite all the ‘equal’ chances they could not get the opportunities and satisfaction when they got the money. The third topic was ‘Image’. If you have the good job and the good money, what can the right image do for you? In 2007 we had ‘Power’ as our main topic. Good job, money and the right image is power; or not? And in 2008 we had the focus on 'Health'.
March 6 and 7, 2009 (please save the date) we will meet ‘About Women and Opportunity’ in the continuous effort to have women (and men) come together and dedicate time on the different aspects of opportunity for women and girls.

Again: our conferences must create the space for women to connect and to build strong connections and friendships.

The ‘About Women & …… Conferences’ always end with a big show, celebrating women. So, be prepared!

I want to thank my dear friend Norma for introducing me to Araña and for constantly being at my back and all the great good women of Araña and with special care Alexandra, Rita, Daisy, Bobby, Judith, Suzanne and Peggy.

Vision
To realize a different, comfortable, safe, empowering, women friendly meeting place and space for professional women of all ages where knowledge and wisdom is exchanged and transferred in a professional and relaxing sphere and where women can create and expand friendships with the necessary support for their families.

Mission
Our mission is to create the opportunities for professional women to fulfill and support their needs to combine work and private life in a most beneficial way; To offer knowledge and wisdom to women looking for any additional support in their daily work by creating regular supporting activities; To collaborate with others to achieve our mission; To be, via our projects, a stable support for professional women in their working life.

To achieve our mission we partnered and will continue to do so with senior professionals (male and female); considered to be visionaries in their life career. We are achieving our mission with the support of sponsors, participants and via special projects.
