Curaçao, October 19, 2008 6th Annual Women Conference in Curaçao Curaçao – On March 6th and 7th 2009, Curacao will host the sixth annual “About Women & …” conference. This edition of the successful series will be entitled "About Women and Opportunity". The aim of this series of annual women conferences in Curaçao is to provide an opportunity for professional women from all walks of life and from all over the world with a relevant topic of interest that will contribute to the personal and professional development of each participant. This 6th annual women conference "About Women and Opportunity" is important for those women who are combining work, family and life in general; the (female) student with ambitions to have a great career and also for managers, business owners and human resource officers who need to understand more of the challenges and realities that professional women bring into a company. Each participant must leave the conference with enough information, empowerment and understanding of opportunities in their lives. "About Women and Opportunity" follows the Conferences “About Women and Health” in 2008, "About Women and Power" in 2007, "About Women and Image" in 2006, "About Women and Money" in 2005 and "About Women and Work" in 2004. Following the resolutions of the past conferences, special attention will be devoted this time on how professional women are dealing with available opportunities, whilst considering the often contradictory demands of their work, financial reality, image, power and health. Based on the input of the participants and invited experts, the conference will provide contemporary strategies and tools professional women can apply to ensure successful management of opportunities in their lives. The expert speakers participating in this edition of the "About Women and Opportunity" Conference will all focus on professional opportunity for women, how they experience that women are dealing with their opportunities, what opportunity means for women and how well women handle opportunities despite all challenges. Confirmed speakers for the Conference "About Women and Opportunity" are from the Netherlands Antilles: Lisbeth Hoefdraad LLC, President of the Common Court of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, who as the keynote speaker will open the conference on March 6, 2009 in the International Trade Center in Curaçao. The Conference will then proceed on March 7, 2009 with speakers Suzanne Stevens from Ohio, USA who is the founder of the Hope Springs Women Center in Peebles, Ohio; Nilda Juliana from Curaçao who is the founder of the cleaning services company ‘Servisio Na Bo Òrdu’ and finally, from The Netherlands, Mariano “Pitòsh” Heyden II, doctoral researcher in strategic management at a top European institution of higher education in business and management, and who as a young professional is using all available opportunities and who experiences how young women deal with their opportunities. The annual women conference in Curaçao will close with the usual celebration of women honoring the International Women’s Day, proclaimed by the United Nations.
